           Many people today confess to be “Christians” and follow the teachings of the Bible. Yet still we have wars, we have nations proclaiming superiority over other nations and individuals claiming to be better than other individuals. We have some people who claim to be “Better Christians” than others. There are many arguments and even wars fought over who is right and who is wrong. Thus, out of my own curiosity and belief in philosophies, I studied the Bible to see what it says in regards to these matters. Please note that I have included only what is written in the Bible.

The examples I give are all relatively generic and do not point to any one institution or person. They are given as broad examples and should not be taken as a personal attack on anyone, though as is inevitable when the topic of religion comes up, I know that they will be. I shall refrain from making any personal decisions or expressing my own opinion. I shall leave the readers to ponder these questions and seek out the truth on their own behalf.

If the reader does not already have a belief in the Bible as God’s word, than there really is no point in reading this: unless perhaps just out of curiosity. If however, you believe that the Bible is God’s word, but religions and churches have left you feeling empty or lacking, than please feel free to read this and comment if you wish.

            If God is running this world, how come it is so bad here?

            What the Bible says:

        (James 1:13) ¹³ When under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.” For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone.

        (John 14:29-31) ²⁹ So now I have told YOU before it occurs, in order that, when it does occur, YOU may believe. ³⁰ I shall not speak much with YOU anymore, for the ruler of the world is coming. And he has no hold on me, ³¹ but, in order for the world to know that I love the Father, even as the Father has given me commandment [to do], so I am doing. Get up, let us go from here.

        (Ephesians 2:1-7) 2 Furthermore, [it is] YOU [God made alive] though YOU were dead in YOUR trespasses and sins, ² in which YOU at one time walked according to the system of things of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit that now operates in the sons of disobedience. ³ Yes, among them we all at one time conducted ourselves in harmony with the desires of our flesh, doing the things willed by the flesh and the thoughts, and we were naturally children of wrath even as the rest. ⁴ But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, ⁵ made us alive together with the Christ, even when we were dead in trespasses—by undeserved kindness YOU have been saved— ⁶ and he raised us up together and seated us together in the heavenly places in union with Christ Jesus, ⁷ that in the coming systems of things there might be demonstrated the surpassing riches of his undeserved kindness in his graciousness toward us in union with Christ Jesus.

        (2 Corinthians 4:3-4) ³ If, now, the good news we declare is in fact veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing, ⁴ among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through.

        (1 John 5:19) ¹⁹ We know we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the [power of the] wicked one.

             And then one of my personal favorites.

        (Ecclesiastes 8:8-10) ⁸ There is no man having power over the spirit to restrain the spirit; neither is there any power of control in the day of death; nor is there any discharge in the war. And wickedness will provide no escape for those indulging in it. ⁹ All this I have seen, and there was an applying of my heart to every work that has been done under the sun, [during] the time that man has dominated man to his injury. ¹⁰ But, though this is so, I have seen the wicked ones being buried, how they came in and how they would go away from the holy place itself and be forgotten in the city where they acted that way. This too is vanity.

             While some people may indeed interpret my end comments as opinion, I do disagree. While the Bible you are using may not read exactly the same, the meaning is still there. 

            It seems clear that the Bible states that Satan is in charge of the world we live in. Man has ruled man to his own injury and Satan rules this world. No wonder there is suffering and strife. To teach people that suffering or strife is an act of God is just plain wrong on many levels. 

            I have no doubts that God will be turning that around soon.
